Passion

“What would happen if your kids developed a sense of passion that mobilized them to do what Jesus did on Earth?  What if they understood they are designed to personally participate in God’s story to show His redemptive plan to every generation? You want them to love others the way God does.” – Think Orange

The height of one’s spiritual growth is characterized by the depth of one’s Passion:

“I exist every day to demonstrate God’s love to a perfect world.”

At Parkview, we believe that every growing Christian should be involved in service.  Becoming more like Christ is necessarily linked to living out the same passion Christ had for serving the world.  We recognize that there are many forms and avenues of Christian service outside of the local church and around the world; however, we encourage every member and regular attender at Parkview to “serve one another in love” at least one hour every week.

We don’t think that young Christians should wait until they are adults and on their own to begin practicing this principal of Passion through service.  This is why we begin at an early age to teach our preschoolers that they can serve God and the Body of Christ by being helpers at home.  We teach our children that even at a young age, they can serve by actively leading others to worship God.  Students are encouraged to become SLAyers, Student Leadership Apprentices, to serve in the children’s ministry one hour on Sunday mornings.
